HOI AN

A timeless beauty on Vietnam's central coast, this UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quang Nam carries an enchanting fusion of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European influences. In the rain, I captured the mustard-yellow walls darkened by moisture, weathered wooden windows, and tiled roofs where raindrops mingle with the soft rustle of bougainvillea.

ANCIENT TOWN IN THE RAIN

As the record-breaking typhoon swept through, I wandered the rain-soaked streets of this ancient town, seeking a perspective rarely seen. Hoi An is celebrated for its sun-drenched brilliance and vibrant hues along coastal Vietnam, but in this album, I reveal another face: softer, more intimate—where centuries of history emerge through walls weathered by nature’s hand, where raindrops compose their quiet symphony, and where I captured fleeting moments, camera in one hand, umbrella forgotten.

THE CULTURE

Beyond the picture-perfect façade lies the soul of Vietnam: traditional shophouses brimming with life, the aromatic dance of Vietnamese street food, and tailor shops where the finest craftsmanship is woven into every thread.

Through film grains and low aperture, I feel an even stronger urge to preserve beauty and humanity – not only by the hands of doctors and healers, but also through the lens of art and the pulse of creativity.
